Pteridophytes represent the most important vascular plants of the plant kingdom. Placed in the archegoniate, these plants are sometimes referred to as bridges between the bryophytes and seed plants. These also display interesting morphological, anatomical and reproductive traits. The evolution of stele, the production of sporophylls and reproduction by spores are important features seen in this group.
