In the earlier studies, antibodies produced in response to COVID-19 infection were found to be petering out very quickly. The quick disappearance of antibodies makes the individuals vulnerable to re-infection. Researchers at deCODE Genetics-Iceland who performed a sero-survey on roughly 30,000 individuals including 1200 COVID-19 infected people found that antibodies are enduring in the bodies for four months after infection. The findings of this study have been published in the New England Journal of Medicine recently after peer review.
