The Library of the Future

Nilmoy didn’t really like libraries. He liked football, comics, video games, and running around in the park, but not the library. For Nilmoy, libraries meant those places where there were just rows and rows of boring shelves, filled with books that smelled like old socks. But that Saturday afternoon, when Nilmoy’s mother dropped him off at the town library to finish his science project, he didn’t know he was about to have the biggest adventure of his life. 

Kiran, his best friend, was waiting near the entrance, holding a notebook. “You’re late!” she scolded. “I was finishing my ice cream,” Nilmoy said with a smile. They walked inside together. The library looked quiet and ordinary — wooden shelves, dusty windows, the faint smell of paper and polish.
