You might have watched science fiction movies such as Star Trek, where a person can travel as a beam of light. So, distances hardly matter. But Science fiction movies and books have painted a very rosy picture of space travel. The space traveller explores the unknown and even meets an extraterrestrial! But this picture does not match the reality. Space travel is filled with extreme dangers. Of the 550 or so space travellers, 20 of them died on the way to space or back from it. Some died while on a space walk or due to a malfunction in the system, or due to fire, etc. But the true picture is far more frightening…read more on NOPR
