The SpaDeX was launched on 30 December 2024, at 10:00 PM IST from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota onboard the PSLV-C60 rocket. On 16 January 2025, India’s space programme reached a major milestone with the successful autonomous space docking, marking a critical step for future space endeavours. This new capability is vital for upcoming missions, including satellite refuelling, repair, the assembly of large structures, material transfer (such as payloads, lunar samples, or potentially humans), and more. On 13 March 2025, the two satellites were successfully undocked, allowing their respective payloads to operate independently.
