Commemorating the Birth Centenary of Prof. AK Sharma

It was the 10th International Congress of Genetics in 1958. Cytologists and geneticists from different corners of the world were gathered in Montreal, Canada, to exchange their knowledge about recent updates on cytogenetic research. Among them was a 33-year-old, tall, slim young man, Prof. Arun Kumar Sharma, from India to deliver his talk. He did a herculean task at this International Congress of Genetics. Prof. Arun Kumar Sharma is considered by many to be the “Father of Indian Cytology”.
