With the start of the year 2024, India has marked another success story in space science. The country has once again achieved a big feat by placing the solar spacecraft Aditya-L1 in a Halo orbit around Sun-Earth Lagrangian point 1 (L1) on 6 January 2024. The solar spacecraft has been named after the Sun god ‘Aditya’ in Hindu mythology. With this accomplishment, India, in its maiden mission to the Sun, has joined the league of countries advancing solar understanding.
